High School and Beyond Plan

High School Goals (2024-2025)

Academic Excellence:

Maintain a strong GPA while continuing to challenge myself with advanced coursework, including AP

classes and honors-level subjects, particularly in the sciences. Achieve my AP Capstone Diploma and

further my research in biomedical sciences.

Leadership & Involvement:

Continue serving as President of the Institute of Biotechnology, Pre-Collegiate Club, and Black

Student Union, focusing on promoting student engagement and advocacy for educational opportunities.

Develop mentorship programs within these clubs to support underclassmen interested in STEM fields.

Research & Internships:

Deepen my research experience through additional internships and lab work, particularly in

neuro-oncology and genetic engineering. Expand my understanding of neurological diseases by

pursuing more specialized research projects.

College Preparation:

Complete college applications and aim to be accepted into a top-tier university that supports my

academic interests in biomedical sciences and neurosurgery. Seek scholarships and financial aid

opportunities to assist in funding my education.

Personal Development:

Continue refining essential life skills such as time management, resilience, and leadership,

preparing myself for the demands of college and adulthood. Take my faith seriously by maintaining

involvement in my church's youth worship team and incorporating spirituality into my daily life.

Immediate Post-High School Goals (2025-2029):

College Education:

Enroll in a university with a strong biomedical or pre-med program, aiming to excel in coursework related to biology, chemistry, and neuroscience. Explore dual major or minor opportunities in complementary areas such as biotechnology or bioengineering. Pursue undergraduate research opportunities early to enhance my practical skills.

Research & Internships:

Secure internships or research assistant positions in medical labs focusing on neurological diseases, cancer biology, or genetic engineering. Continue building my expertise in lab techniques and scientific inquiry through hands-on experiences.

Community Involvement:

Stay involved in local and campus-based initiatives, such as tutoring, mentorship, or educational outreach for underprivileged students. Join or create a student organization that advocates for STEM education, and remain active in my faith by joining a worship team at a local church.

Personal Growth:

Develop a well-rounded lifestyle, balancing academic rigor with self-care and extracurricular activities. Prioritize mental and physical health to prevent burnout, and continue refining essential qualities such as leadership, communication, and time management.

High School & Beyond Plan

Long-Term Goals (2029 and Beyond)

Medical School & Neurosurgery Career:

Pursue admission to a leading medical school with a focus on neuroscience and neurosurgery. Work toward becoming a board-certified neurosurgeon, specializing in brain and spinal cord surgeries. Continue conducting groundbreaking research on neurological diseases and cancer treatments.

Work/Life Balance:

Establish a successful career while maintaining a balanced personal life. Prioritize family,

personal well-being, and faith alongside professional commitments. Continue participating in church activities, particularly on the worship team.

Community & Education:

Give back to my community through mentorship programs, educational outreach, and involvement in

initiatives that support youth education in STEM. Advocate for increased access to educational

opportunities for underprivileged and underrepresented communities.

Legacy & Impact:

Build a legacy that reflects my dedication to both medicine and service. Inspire the next generation of medical professionals and scientists while making a lasting impact in the field of neurosurgery. Strive to leave behind a positive, lasting influence on both my professional and personal communities.
